Top 5 Start Of Term UCF Events
During the month of August, the University of Central Florida hosts several events that definitely deserve attention. Some are for school spirit while others are for really noble causes.
Here are the top five start of term events.
This annual charity 5K run is sponsored by Knight-Thon to help the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. It starts at 7 p.m., though registration begins at 6.
It’s $25 to register before the day of the run and $30 to register the day of. It takes place on Aug. 23 at Memory Mall. If you feel like you might be up for a good cause this fall, this is the one.
If you wish to see some of UCF’s top intramural sports, I suggest you go to the Recreation and Wellness Center in the Leisure Green room to see them played in front of the pool.
This event takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 18. Among UCF’s intramural sports, Muggle Quidditch might be included.
3) Knight Rave.
Why not start your term off with a nice little celebration that includes your closest friends at UCF?
On Aug. 20, at the CFE arena and free of charge, it opens at 8 p.m. and ends at 11 p.m. You get glowsticks, and there are bound to be great DJs playing dubstep and other popular beats for you to rock to and ease into the term.
4) VIP Pool Party:
What a better way to end Pegasus Palooza than with a pool party? At the RWC’s own Leisure Pool, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., you can go in your bathing suit and have a complete and total blast.
5) Pegasus Palooza Service Day
After having such fun this first week during Pegasus Palooza, it’s high time to do more charitable work.
One option is Clean The World where you can recycle soap to be sent to individuals in impoverished countries, and the other consists of going to Second Harvest to sort through donated food products in order to aid those struggling with food insecurity in the community.
The Second Harvest activity starts at 7:45 a.m. and Clean The World is at 8 a.m. sharp at Knights Plaza.
There is both fun to be had as well as good work to be done this first week of school. Enjoy it and Knight On!
