Job Title: Creative Services Intern
Department: Communications
Reports To: Social Media Manager
Classification: Internship (Part-Time/Flexible Schedule)
Objective:
The City of St. Cloud Communications Departments offers internships in a variety of fields, including audio tech, graphic design, social media, and video production. These internships offer an opportunity for college students or recent college graduates to gain professional experience in the creation of assets for the Communications department. This role provides entry-level exposure to municipal communications in support of 14 departments serving nearly 70,000 residents.
Depending on your field of study and skillset, the intern will assist with audio / audio-visual production for meetings and special events, graphic design, social media content, videos, and photos.
Responsibilities:
Design and update graphics, flyers, and social media visuals to support city events, programs, and announcements, ensuring consistency with brand standards and ADA accessibility requirements.
- Review and refine graphics and flyers submitted by departments to ensure they align with the city's brand guidelines.
- Assist with the tech production for city meetings and events
- Attend city events to capture photo and video content for promotional and recap purposes.
- Provide support with photo and video editing with guidance of the Communications team.
- Assist with updates to the city's website and other communication platforms as needed.
- Contribute creative ideas for social media campaigns, event promotion strategies, and community engagement opportunities.
- Perform other creative support tasks as assigned by the Communications Department
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a college/university program focused on communication, audio-visual tech, graphic design, social media, video production, photography, or a related field, or a recent graduate from a similar program.
- Proficient in applicable software and tools
- Basic understanding of ADA requirements for digital assets on government platforms
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work cohesively in a team and to professionally interact with other city departments and members of the community
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment.

Time Commitment: Flexible schedule to accommodate academic commitments; hours will be coordinated with the Department
