Two Groups, 1 Vision: Having a Good Time.
UCF may not be the #1 party school, but it definitely stands a fighting chance in throwing the #1 epic club parties. With the uprising of many successful entertainment groups in Orlando, everyone always has something to look forward to. Working closely with UCF students specifically, two up and coming entertainment groups in the UCF and Orlando community are KnightBloc Entertainment and WeekendCrew PartyGroup. Both organizations stand for different things, but you can bet their parties are ones you won’t want to miss.
KnightBloc, started by Chris Chen and Gan Guo, was founded in July 2011 and have made their mark in Orlando ever since. Their parties touch base with numerous night clubs in Downtown Orlando including Dragon Room Cocktail Boutique, Bliss Ultra Lounge and Waterford’s only Blue Moon Ultra Lounge. KnightBloc takes pride in “enhancing nightlife and events for the greater Orlando,” with their most recent event being Summer Blackout, a very successful event at Bliss. Chen thinks throwing club and house parties is only the beginning of KnightBloc. “We eventually would like to expand into more events such as, sports, video game tournaments, outdoor/field day events and more,” said Chen. With prior experience working in UCF’s student organizations, Chen has the connections to network with different organizations and unite them all. KnightBloc likes to think of themselves as a team and a family.
The other well-known group is WeekendCrew PartyGroup. WeekendCrew was established by Sonny Nguyen with the intent on creating partying as a lifestyle and culture. Similar to Salt Life, WeekendCrew promotes the lifestyle of having a great time while partying. You can find WeekendCrew hosting club parties at VAiN in Downtown Orlando in collaboration with Deepvision, another entertainment group. WeekendCrew is also known for taking its parties outside of Orlando. Their most recent out-of-town event was hosted at Bento Café in Gainesville, FL which catered to the UF student organizations. Their focus is to be more than just a promotion r entertainment group, they want to see themselves as a brand. Additionally, this group embraces the partying lifestyle through apparel and media production. “Eventually [we hope to do]other things like maybe host car shows/meets,” said Nguyen.
If you’re thinking about throwing, hosting or attending a club or house party anytime soon, one of these two groups is the way to go. For more information about either of the two, visit www.knightbloc.com or www.facebook.com/WeekendCrew.
